Gotschuchen ( Slovenian Kočúha ) is a village in the municipality of St. Margareten im Rosental in the Klagenfurt Land district in Carinthia . The village is located in Lower Carinthia south of the Drau and has around 220 inhabitants.

The municipality of St. Margareten im Rosental is located in the eastern part of the Rosental at an altitude of 408 to 868  m above sea level. A. and covers 43.98 km². The oldest mention of the place as "an der Chotschusch" dates from 1364. The name Gotschuchen in the Slovene dialect Kočúha, mentioned in 1413 as Goszschwossen, 1430 as Kotussen, goes back to the ironic, derisive name given to the personal name Kočúha , which means hut dweller . Before the peasants were freed from inheritance as a result of the revolution of 1848/1849 in the Austrian Empire , the area belonged to the rule of Hollenburg . In the feudal system , justice and administration were not separate. One of the most frequent tasks of the Hollenburg court was to optimize the income for the landlord. The right to lease agricultural land was granted to the highest bidder for a relatively short period of time, often only for one year.

In the period before November 13, 1902, Niederdörfl was the name of today's municipality of Sankt Margarethen, at that time consisting of the cadastral communities Niederdörfl, St. Margareten and Gotschuchen.
