Grand Dakar is one of the 19 municipalities (Communes d'arrondissement du Sénégal) of Dakar , the capital of Senegal .

geography

Grand Dakar is located in the interior of the Cap-Vert Peninsula . The district extends long and narrow in a southeast-northwest direction along the northeast side of the Boulevard Dial Diop one and a half kilometers to the intersection with the Avenue Habib Bourguiba .

The municipality has an area of ​​1.0 km². Neighboring clockwise are the districts of Fann-Point E-Amitié , Mermoz-Sacré Cœur and Sicap-Liberté in the west, Dieuppeul-Derklé in the north, Biscuiterie and HLM in the east and Gueule Tapée-Fass-Colobane in the south .

The city district is almost completely built up and extremely densely populated.
