Sicap-Liberté is one of the 19 boroughs (Communes d'arrondissement du Sénégal) of Dakar , the capital of Senegal . Sicap is part of the name of a number of districts in Dakar that were planned and built by the Société immobilière du Cap-Vert (SICAP) .

Sicap-Liberté is a long and narrow urban district in the interior of the Cap-Vert peninsula .

In the southeast it borders on the Avenue du Président Habib Bourguiba , in the east on the Allée Khalifa Ababacar Sy and in the north on the Avenue du Roi Fahd Ben Abdel Aziz , which was also known as the Route du Front de Terre . According to the arrangement of the road network, the latter name makes a reference to the fact that with this road the northern edge of an extensive urban expansion comprising several of the present city districts of Dakar was reached. However, it was inevitable that other large districts soon emerged further north.

The description of the western border is a little more complicated. In the north-west the four-lane expressway Voie de Dégagement Nord (VDN) forms the border. It then moves back to the east in order to avoid the districts of Sacré Cœur 1, 2 and 3 on either side of the ancienne runway of the former Ouakam airfield . The border then follows rue 12 , now also known as rue Serigne Fallou Mbacké , and finally the boulevard Dial Diop .

The municipality has an area of ​​2.2 km². Neighboring clockwise are the districts of Mermoz-Sacré Cœur , Ouakam and Yoff in the west, Grand Yoff in the north, Dieuppeul-Derklé and Biscuiterie in the east and Grand Dakar and Fann-Point E-Amitié in the south .

The district is divided from south to north into the districts Sicap-Liberté 1 to Sicap-Liberté 6 - with the exception of Sicap-Liberté 3, which is located in the district of Dieuppeul-Derklé .

The city district is almost completely built up and densely populated. To the south is the stadium area of ​​the Stade Demba Diop , one of the capital's large football stadiums.
