Grawemeyer Award

The Grawemeyer Awards are presented annually by the University of Louisville in Kentucky , United States . Winners will be in the "education and teaching" (education) , "Ideas that improve the world order" (ideas Improving world order) , "Musical Composition" (music composition) , "religion" (religion) and "Psychology" (psychology) nominated. The Religion Prize is jointly donated by the University of Louisville and the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary . The prize pool was $ 150,000 from 1985, $ 200,000 between 2000 and 2010, and $ 100,000 since 2011.

The first award ceremony for musical composition was given in 1985. In 2015 a one-time prize in the spirit category was given to Muhammad Ali .
