On the Canadian west coast, Adams was able to build on his old achievements and developed into an indispensable part of the Canucks offensive in the following eight years. In the 1993/94 season he reached the final of the Stanley Cup with the team , which they lost to the New York Rangers . In April 1995, the paths between club and player finally parted ways when he was transferred to the Dallas Stars with Dan Kesa and a five-round vote in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft . The Canucks received Russ Courtnall for this . Adams had three solid seasons in the Texan metropolis and decided to join the Phoenix Coyotes as a free agent in the summer of 1998 . After two years there, he played another year with the Florida Panthers .

After a one-year break following the 2000/01 season , he joined the Frankfurt Lions from the German Ice Hockey League before the 2002/03 season . Then he ended his active career. Only in the 2008/09 season he appeared after his career as a scout for the Tampa Bay Lightning .
