Großau is a village and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Raabs an der Thaya in the Waidhofen an der Thaya district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 86 building areas with 49,435 m² and 85 gardens on 78,185 m² in the cadastral community Großau , in 1989/1990 there were 88 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 119 and in 2009/2010 there were 126 buildings on 251 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 431 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 84 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 433 hectares and 83 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 430 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 83 hectares. The average soil climate of Großau is 40.7 (as of 2010).
