Grzegorz Szamotulski (born May 13, 1976 in Gdansk , Poland ) is a former Polish football player .
Club career
The goalkeeper began his career at Lechia Gdańsk . After his beginnings with the Danzigers, Grzegorz Szamotulski played for several other Polish clubs (Hutnik Warsaw, 1994 Polonia Warsaw , 1995 Legia Warsaw ) before finally moving to the first Greek league in 1999 to PAOK Saloniki .
After a season in Greece , he moved back to Legia Warsaw and signed with Amica Wronki in 2001 . About Wronki Szamotulski managed to return to the Polish national football team . In 2004 he moved to Austria to VfB Admira Wacker Mödling . After a successful season in the Bundesliga , he was signed by SK Sturm Graz . At the end of the 2006/2007 season he left SK Sturm and moved to Dundee United in Scotland. Here he was a regular goalkeeper for a season before moving to Preston North End in the English second division . At Preston he didn't play a single game due to an injury, but was transferred to FC Ashdod in Israel . He landed at DAC Dunajská Streda in 2010 through Hibernian Edinburgh and Jagiellonia Białystok . In Slovakia he only played 5 league games. His contract ended in June 2010, after which he was without a club. On April 14, 2011 he signed a contract until June 30, 2011 with the Polish first division club Korona Kielce . Then, after a few months without a contract , Szamotulski moved to the second division side Warta Posen in October .
National team
In the Polish national team , Grzegorz Szamotulski made his debut on August 27, 1996 in the friendly against Cyprus (2-2). Between 1996 and 2003 he completed a total of 13 international matches.

Szamotulski has been a goalkeeping coach for the Polish first division club Zagłębie Lubin since 2018 .
