Gustav Böhm (politician)
Gustav Böhm (born January 27, 1827 in Offenbach am Main ; † November 6, 1900 there ) was a Hessian soap manufacturer and politician ( NLP ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse and the Reichstag .

Gustav Böhm was the son of the merchant and freight forwarder Jakob Philipp Böhm (1796–1831) and his wife Susanna née Bauscher. On June 27, 1855, Gustav Böhm married Anna née Heim (1831-1868) in Offenbach. In his second marriage he married Anna Maria nee Weintraut. He was Protestant.
education and profession
Gustav Böhm initially worked as a dealer. From 1848 to 1852 he stayed in North America. In 1855 he founded a soap factory (" Gustav Boehm Toilettenseifen- und Parfumeriefabrik Offenbach ") in Offenbach. The company was successful and expanding. In 1880 the company opened a branch in London. In 1890 he was appointed councilor of commerce in Offenbach .
politics
In the election periods 23 to 26 (1878–1888) Gustav Böhm was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the state estates he represented the constituency of the city of Offenbach . His successor in the stands was Hermann Weber .
From 1887 to 1890 Gustav Böhm was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Hesse 5 (Offenbach, Dieburg) . In the Reichstag election in 1890 , he lost the constituency by 2000 votes to Carl Ulrich .
Other offices
Gustav Böhm was also active in the city and district administration and the Chamber of Commerce.
