Albert Theodor Gustav Hache (born April 27, 1835 in Fischenhausen, East Prussia , † January 11, 1886 in Essen ) was a German politician and mayor of Angermünde , Essen and Wolgast .

Gustav Hache studied law. He continued his training at various courts. He resigned from the judicial service to become mayor of Angermünde in the Uckermark on August 30, 1863 . From January 16, 1865, Hache was mayor of the Pomeranian city ​​of Wolgast, from where he applied for a position as mayor in Essen.

Gustav Hache was Mayor of Essen from October 15, 1868 until his death. His term of office thus fell into that of industrialization, during which Essen grew rapidly by around 25,000 inhabitants due to the immigration of workers for the up-and-coming steel industry and the booming hard coal mining industry. The city of Essen also left the Essen district during his tenure . It followed on July 11, 1873 awarded the title of Upper mayor by royal cabinet order. On March 27, 1875, Hache received approval to create the golden chain of office on special occasions.

From 1878 Gustav Hache was a member of the Prussian manor house .

Gustav Hache died of a stroke in his office shortly after he had appointed Friedrich Haumann as an alderman . Hache was buried in the cemetery at Kettwiger Tor in Essen. Because the cemetery was closed in 1955, his grave was moved to the Ostfriedhof Essen . After the original was destroyed in World War II in the 1950s, the tombstone there was recreated from inferior rock and is now heavily weathered.

Hachestrasse in Essen city ​​center has been named after him since June 1934 , and was renamed from Bahnhofstrasse to Märkische Strasse in 1886.
