geography

course

The Haßlach rises about two kilometers northeast of Haßlach (near Teuschnitz) and initially flows in a south-westerly direction through the towns of Haßlach (near Teuschnitz), Förtschendorf , Rothenkirchen , Pressig and Neukenroth . From there it flows in a south-easterly direction through Stockheim , Haßlach near Kronach , Gundelsdorf and Knellendorf to Kronach , where it flows into the Rodach from the right in the south of the urban area .

About two kilometers south-east of Steinbach am Wald , the Kronach – Probstzella (Frankenwaldbahn) line runs from the Dammbachtal into the Haßlachtal and accompanies the river to its mouth in Kronach. About one kilometer north of Förtschendorf, there is also the federal highway 85 from the Steinbachtal, which runs largely parallel to the railway line through the Haßlach valley to Kronach. Both routes cross the river several times, even after the widening of the valley, which was initially very narrow as far as Rothenkirchen.
