History, facilities
At the southern end of the city is the church of the northern provost , the Hald church . The three-winged altar is attributed to an unknown master from Lübeck, who in the 20th century was given the emergency name Imperialissima Master according to the inscription under the statue of the Virgin Mary (Imperialissima virgo Maria) . The altar originally stood in Randers St. Mortens Church, to which a new altar was donated in 1765.
The Hald meeting house was built in 1889 and expanded to accommodate 140 people in 1952. It consists of a main hall for 110 people with a stage and a smaller room for 30 people. It has a service for 100 people.
From 1961 to 2010 there was a primary school, the Hald-Kærby Centralskole , for around one hundred students in grades 0 to 7. Since then, the school has been used as the special education center for adults at the CSV Randers. After the school closed, the children first went to school in Harridslev , and since 2015 in the primary school in Øster Tørslev .
In 1965, the local sports club Hald IF merged with the neighboring club Gjerlev-Enslev IF under the name Boldklubben 65 (German ball club). There is also its own gymnastics club .
Rail connection
From 1883 to 1969 Hald had its own train station , which was built in an open field, 2 km northwest of the church. It had two platforms and a loading ramp. The station building was retained and is located at Kærbyvej 29.
