Hamed Junior Traorè (born February 16, 2000 in Abidjan ) is an Ivorian soccer player who is on loan from FC Empoli to the US Sassuolo Calcio .

Career

Traorès was born in the Ivorian capital Abidjan . His family moved to Italy shortly after he was born. In 2015 he moved to the youth team of FC Empoli after playing for the Italian amateur club GS Boca Barco . In the Primavera of the Azzurri he was able to convince quickly and scored twelve goals in 50 games and was also able to prepare ten more. On October 8, 2017, he made his Serie B debut in a 3-1 home win against Foggia Calcio when he came on for Alfredo Donnarumma in the closing stages . It was only at the end of the 2017/18 season that he made further appearances in the first team. With Empoli, he managed to win the championship and the associated promotion to Serie A this season . In the top Italian division, he made his debut on August 26, 2018 in the 1: 2 away defeat against FC Genoa .

On January 15, 2019, Traorè signed a four-year contract with league rivals Fiorentina and should join the club for the next 2019/20 season . As a transfer payment, 12 million euros were fixed. At the end of May it became known that the transfer had failed because Fiorentina sent the contracts to the association too late.

On April 20, 2019, Traorè scored his first league goal for FC Empoli in the 4-2 home defeat against SPAL Ferrara . In the 2018/19 season he played 32 league games, in which he scored two goals and as many assists. With Empoli he had to accept relegation to the second division.

On July 12, 2019 it was confirmed that Traorè will be loaned to the first division club US Sassuolo Calcio for two years . At the end of the loan period, Sassuolo is obliged to buy it in the amount of 15 million euros. On August 25 (1st matchday) he made his debut in the 1: 2 away defeat against FC Turin for his new club. On the next match day he scored his first goal of the season in a 4-1 home win against Sampdoria Genoa .

Hamed Junior Traoré's younger brother Amad Traoré is also a soccer player. He currently plays for the Atalanta Bergamo U-19 team .
