Career

society

Locatelli moved in 2010 from the youth department of Atalanta Bergamo to AC Milan . After Locatelli sat one game each on the bench of the professional team in the second half of the 2014/15 season and the first half of the 2015/16 season , he was accepted into the professional squad in February 2016 by then coach Siniša Mihajlović . Locatelli was a regular member of the Milans squad in the second half of the season and made his debut for Rossoneri in a 0-0 draw against FC Carpi on April 21, 2016 , when he came on for Andrea Poli shortly before the end of the game . On May 14th, Locatelli celebrated his starting line-up debut in the 3-1 defeat against AS Roma . In the 2016/2017 season , Locatelli developed into a regular regular player under the new coach Vincenzo Montella and thus played a large part in winning the Italian Supercup against Juventus Turin and in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League . After the renewed change of coach to Gennaro Gattuso , Locatelli played his first European Cup games, but had to be content with a place on the bench more and more often and so he switched to league rivals US Sassuolo on loan with purchase obligation .

National team

Locatelli has been a member of various Italian junior national teams since 2013. With the U-17 national team he reached the quarter-finals of the U-17 European Championship in 2015 , with the U-19 selection he was able to reach the final of the U-19 European Championship in 2016 , which the French team won 4-0 . After the European Championship Locatelli was the new captain of the U-19 national team.

From 2017 to 2019 Locatelli is an important regular player in the U-21 national team and also competed for them at the U-21 European Championships in 2017 and 2019 .
