Filip Đuričić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Филип Ђуричић , born January 30, 1992 in Obrenovac , SFR Yugoslavia , today Serbia ; spelling also Filip Djuričić ) is a Serbian football player . He is under contract with Sampdoria Genoa and is currently on loan to Benevento Calcio . He plays for the Serbian national team . Because of his achievements in the Eredivisie , he was nicknamed " Cruyff of the Balkans ".

Club career

Youth clubs

Đuričić was born around 30 km from Belgrade in Obrenovac in what was then Yugoslavia . Đuričić began playing football in the youth of Red Star Belgrade at the age of 13 , having previously played with Radnički Obrenovac in his hometown. After two years he moved to Olympiacos in Greece in 2007 . However, the midfielder only stayed a year with the then Greek champions and moved back to Radnički Obrenovac.

Start of professional career

At the club from his hometown, the Radnički Obrenovac, he made his professional debut at the age of 16 and completed 15 league games for the club. After strong performances, he aroused the interest of domestic and foreign clubs. Among other things, Manchester United became aware of the talent and invited him to a trial training session in the Red Devils reserve under the direction of Ole Gunnar Solskjær and to the league match between Manchester and Chelsea .

SC Heerenveen

On March 13, 2009 Đuričić signed a preliminary contract with SC Heerenveen as the successor to Danijel Pranjić , who should leave the club in the summer for Bayern Munich . He made his debut against RKC Waalwijk in the second half of the 2009/10 season , where he succeeded in an assist that Gerald Sibon could use. His first goal in the Frisian jersey marked Fruričić against AZ Alkmaar on matchday 26. In the following three seasons he was a regular player and scored 26 goals for the club in a total of 109 official games. Due to the strong performance, numerous top European clubs showed interest in signing the young Serb .

Benfica Lisbon

On February 23, 2013, Benfica Lisbon confirmed the commitment of 21-year-old Đuričić. For the 2013/14 season he moved together with his national team colleague Miralem Sulejmani , who was under contract with Ajax Amsterdam , and signed a five-year contract. There they both met another national team colleague, midfielder Nemanja Matić . His contract included a release clause of 40 million euros.

Mainz 05

For the 2014/15 season , Đuričić switched to the German Bundesliga club 1. FSV Mainz 05 on loan for a year . He played eleven league games.

Southampton FC

On February 2, 2015 Đuričić was loaned to FC Southampton until the end of the season in the Premier League .

RSC Anderlecht

In February 2016 Đuričić was awarded to RSC Anderlecht in Belgium until the end of the season .

Sampdoria Genoa

In the summer of 2016, Đuričić moved to the Italian first division club Sampdoria Genoa .

Benevento Calcio

On January 18, Đuričić was committed to the end of the season on loan from the club from Campania .

National team

Đuričić has played for Serbia since the U-17s . With the U-17 he was the captain of the team for a long time. With Serbia's U-19 he took part in the U-19 European Championship in 2009 , where Serbia failed in the semifinals against the eventual winner from Ukraine.
