Hans Christian von Brietzke

Hans Christian von Brietzke (born February 12, 1705 on the Viesen estate , † October 1, 1783 in Wesel ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and chief of the Füselierregiment No. 44 .

Life

origin

Hans Christian was the son of Buffo Joachim von Brietzke (* 1654; † January 5, 1733), heir of Viesen and his first wife Beate Sabine Basewitsch († December 2, 1709).

Military career

In 1720 Brietzke became a flag boy in the “Varenne” infantry regiment No. 13 . In 1723 he was ensign in the infantry regiment "Bardeleben" No. 29 , 1728 Second Lieutenant and 1738 Prime Lieutenant . In the Silesian War he became a staff captain on July 24, 1743 and in 1745 a real captain . On April 27, 1755 he was promoted to major , in 1758 to lieutenant colonel and on February 8, 1760 to colonel .

After the Seven Years' War he received the Füselierregiment "Grant" No. 44 . On May 20, 1766 he was appointed major general and in 1778 also lieutenant general. In 1779 he was released with a pension of 1200 thalers .

He fought in the battles of Chotusitz , Hohenfriedberg , Soor , Prague , Kolin (injured in the foot), Breslau , the siege of Dresden (shot in the arm) and in the siege of Schweidnitz (injured in the hip).

Brietzke had been married to Eleonora Gottliebe von Rabenau since 1747 , with whom he had two children, including:

  • Beate Charlotte Elisabeth Johanne (March 9, 1749 - December 20, 1820) ⚭ 1770 (divorced in 1771 due to insanity) Dietrich Christoph von Radecke (1732–1799)
