Hans Jochim Schmidt

Hans Jochim Schmidt (born April 26, 1938 in Schwerin ) is a German professor for general elementary school education and didactics of subject teaching as well as audio book speaker and publisher .

Life

Schmidt graduated from high school in Osnabrück in 1957. After studying to be a teacher at the University of Education in Bremen , which he completed with the first teacher examination, from 1960 he worked mainly as a primary school teacher in Bremen and Lower Saxony. In 1969 he was seconded to the University of Lüneburg . In 1973 he completed his pedagogy studies at the Lower Saxony University of Education with a diploma examination. In 1984 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. From 1991 he was seconded to the University of Rostock in order to develop the subjects of elementary school education and teaching at primary and secondary schools. In 1994 he was appointed university professor. Until his retirement in 2002 he worked as a reviewer for the German Education Council and worked on various curriculum commissions. In 2004 he founded an audio book publisher .

The reader Schmidt Hörbuchverlag is based in Oldenburg (formerly Schwerin and Papenburg ). Hans Jochim Schmidt runs the publishing house as his "age project". He specializes in classic public domain texts in German. Without exception, these are read in, edited and published by himself in full. The audio books from Vorleser Schmidt Hörbuchverlag are often the only recordings of unknown or almost forgotten works by well-known authors such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , Wilhelm Raabe , Adalbert Stifter , Jean Paul , Theodor Storm , Gottfried Keller , Heinrich von Kleist , Wilhelm Hauff .

Another focus is on audio books in the Low German language ( Mecklenburg ) by authors such as Fritz Reuter or the Brothers Grimm .
