Harold Theodore Tate

Harold Theodore Tate ( December 28, 1875 - October 23, 1960 ) was an American government official. He was the son of Ariana Peck (* 1844) and Allen Senter Tate (1842-1905) from Grainger County ( Tennessee ). Nothing is known about his youth or his private life. President Calvin Coolidge named him Treasurer of the United States . Tate held the post from May 31, 1928 to January 17, 1929. He was married to Margaret Ritchie (1879-1952). After his death he was on the Emma Jarnagin Cemetery in Morristown ( Hamblen County buried).
