Harrison "Harry" Zolnierczyk (born September 1, 1987 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 95 games for the Philadelphia Flyers , Pittsburgh Penguins , New York Islanders and Anaheim Ducks between 2007 and 2019 and Nashville Predators in the National Hockey League (NHL) on the left winger position . Zolnierczyk spent most of his career in the American Hockey League (AHL), where he played over 440 games for seven different franchises .

Career

Zolnierczyk played during his junior years from 2005 to 2007 with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the British Columbia Hockey League . Without by a franchise of the National Hockey League in an NHL entry draft to be chosen, the striker decided to study at the Brown University , where he played for the local hockey team.

After completing his four-year studies, the attacker was hired in March 2011 on the basis of an amateur tryout offer by the Philadelphia Flyers , who used him in their farm team , the Adirondack Phantoms , in the American Hockey League . In the summer of 2011, Zolnierczyk received a valid NHL contract. In the following two seasons until the beginning of April 2013 he was regularly used in the NHL and AHL, before he was transferred to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Jay Rosehill . This used him exclusively in the AHL with the Norfolk Admirals and did not extend his contract, which was running out at the end of the season.

As a free agent , the left winger moved to the Pittsburgh Penguins organization , where he spent most of the 2013/14 season in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins . This was followed by further one-year engagements in the franchises of the New York Islanders and again Anaheim Ducks from summer 2014 . For both teams, however, he was only used three times in the NHL and otherwise played in the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and San Diego Gulls . In July 2016, he was drawn to the Nashville Predators , who initially hired him for their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals . Later, however, the attacker was also regularly used in the NHL, where he finally reached the Stanley Cup final with the Predators, but there was defeated by his previous team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Predators did not extend Zolnierczyk's expiring contract, so that he was again considered a free agent. At the end of August 2017, he received a trial contract with the Florida Panthers , which did not become a permanent commitment. Finally, in October 2017, the attacker signed a new one-year contract with the Nashville Predators. After fulfilling this, he received a contract with the Springfield Thunderbirds, which was limited to the AHL in July 2018 . In the same way, he moved to the Hartford Wolf Pack in July 2019 , but ended his active career before the season at the age of 32.
