Hartmut Bühler

Hartmut S. Bühler (born August 8, 1955 in Tübingen ) is a German photographer and photojournalist . He specializes in portraits of musicians, visual artists and business leaders. He lives and works in Düsseldorf .

Life

After attending grammar school, Hartmut Bühler completed a daily newspaper traineeship at Zollern-Alb-Kurier in Balingen and Ebingen , then at Südwest Presse in Ulm . After an assistantship with the photographer Thomas Pochert in Bergisch Gladbach , an apprenticeship as a text trainee at the Düsseldorf advertising agency Gramm & Gray followed. He then took photos for the media magazine COPY, which was published by the Düsseldorf publishing group Handelsblatt .

Hartmut Bühler has been working as a freelance photographer since 1989. In 2004 he photographed 99 portraits for the book 100 Düsseldorfer Köpfe . Ute-Henriette Ohoven ( UNESCO special ambassador), art dealer Helge Achenbach , publisher Gottfried Arnold ( Rheinische Post ), Gabriele Henkel ( Persil ), pop singer Heino , Udo van Meeteren (honorary citizen of Düsseldorf), Paul Spiegel are among the depicted celebrities in Düsseldorf , President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, the artist Markus Lüpertz , and the film director Wim Wenders .

Hartmut Bühler has been writing for the Ruhrspeak.de photo blog since 2012, a project by Pixelprojekt Ruhrgebiet , funded by the Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2014 he was appointed to the German Society for Photography DGPh e. V.

More recently, Hartmut Bühler has focused on portraits of hard rock and metal greats such as Doro Pesch and Wolf Hoffmann , lead guitarist of the German metal band Accept . Hoffmann was a professional photographer in the business, corporate and music genres in the USA. In addition, portraits of Uli Jon Roth were created . As a photographer, Hartmut Bühler runs a blog that is exclusively devoted to photographic and artistic topics.
