Hartmut H. Forche (born July 1, 1945 in Göttingen ) is a German director , author , translator , actor and voice actor .

biography

After graduating from the Tellkampf School in Hanover , he studied German , art history and philosophy at the Universities of Tübingen , Cologne and Hanover with Hans Mayer , Walter Jens and Ernst Bloch . This was followed by training as an actor at the Hanover University of Music and Drama with Hans-Günther von Klöden , Heinz-Walter Krückeber and Jean Soubeyran .

From 1968 to 1973 he worked at the Staatstheater Hannover with Franz Reichert as an actor, assistant director and dramaturge, and later also as a dramaturge . He made his directorial debut with David Storey's Home . From then on he worked mainly as a director . Between 1969 and 1973 tours followed with the Goethe-Institut to South America, Spain and Portugal. As an actor, he appeared with plays and texts by Peter Handke , Bertolt Brecht , Helmut Heißenbüttel , Heinrich Heine , Hugo von Hofmannsthal , he also gave lectures on theater in Germany and organized acting workshops.

From 1973 he worked as director and deputy director at the Dortmund Theater , Gerd Omar Leutner . In 1973 he took on the role of Lucifer in De temporum fine comedia by Carl Orff at the Salzburg Festival, directed by August Everding and assistant director to Giorgio Strehler (musical direction: Herbert von Karajan ).

In 1973 Forche was senior director of the play at the Stadttheater Pforzheim , then from 1974 to 1976 director and personal assistant to the artistic director at the Bielefeld Theater , Heiner Bruns . Forche worked as a freelancer in Braunschweig, Würzburg and Baden-Baden from 1976 to 1977, then in 1977 he worked as a director for Rolf Hochhuth . From 1977 to 1979 he was chief stage director and representative of the artistic director of the state theater in Wilhelmshaven , and from 1979 worked as a freelance director. He was a member of the jury at the 2nd German Musical Congress in Hamburg and is a member of the SGAE (Sociedad General de Autores y Editores) in Barcelona .

Forche has been a musical critic and editor for the musical magazine Blickpunkt Musical since 2010 and, from the winter semester 2012, lecturer at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences for song interpretation. Forche also works as a translator for libretti and lyrics from English and Spanish for Gallissas Theaterverlag .

In the 2014/15 season Forche was a member of the jury of the German Musical Theater Prize 2015 .
