The village of Hegendorf is part of the municipality of Pommelsbrunn in the Bavarian district of Nürnberger Land .

location

The village lies between Fischbrunn and Neutras , north of Hubmersberg , on the Jura plateau and is arranged around the Easter rock, on which there is a bell house with an electric bell.

history

Hegendorf is probably the foundation of a "Hego" and was created during the second major clearing period from the 10th to the 13th century. The largest part of Hegendorf was owned by the Bergen monastery near Neuburg an der Donau from the beginning and was subordinate to the provost of Hersbruck . The first documentary mention goes back to the year 1275. In 1806 the area became Bavarian together with Nuremberg . The place came with Heuchling , Hunas , Hartmannshof , Höfen and Reckenberg to the Pommelsbrunn tax district and has been part of the Pommelsbrunn municipality since the last regional reform in 1972.

Attractions

There are some interesting listed buildings in the village . (see monuments )

Osterloch

Osterloch, entrance

In the middle of the village, somewhat hidden in a small forest, is the natural karst cave Osterloch. The passage length of the cave is about 66 meters. After the large entrance hall, the cave slopes down to the rear. There are further passages with a few remains of the former sintered jewelry , which are difficult to access and soon end in the rock. Ice Age animal bones and some artifacts from the Hallstatt period and the late Middle Ages were found in the cave . It was later also used as a cellar. The cave is registered in the cave cadastre Fränkische Alb (HFA) with the cadastral number A 2.
