Heidrun Schlieker

Heidrun Schlieker (* 1943 in Kiel , Schleswig-Holstein province ) is a German teacher , painter , illustrator and Low German author .

Life

Schlieker grew up on the Kiel Fjord . High German was spoken in her parents' house , because Low German, which she learned from her grandparents from Dithmarschen , was frowned upon in public at the time.

After school graduated Schlieker a study of pedagogy at the University of Kiel and the University of Hannover . She then taught at various elementary schools , most recently until her retirement in 2007 in Großburgwedel , where she set up a Low German working group many years ago.

In her private life, Schlieker makes the maintenance of the Low German language one of her concerns; writes Low German children's books and illustrates them herself. She is also active as a painter.

Moreover, the author member of the following literary devices: since 2007 in the Hamburg -Fehr's Guild , since 2008 the club Bevensen -Tagung since 2015 in the Institute of Low German in Bremen and since 2017 in "Quickborn", Association for Low German language and literature in Hamburg.

Heidrun Schlieker is married and lives in Großburgwedel.
