Heinrich Johann von Brevern , also Iwan von Brevern (born January 16, 1749 in Moscow ; † October 27, 1803 in Kostivere , Jõelähtme municipality , Estonia ) came from the German-Baltic noble family von Brevern and was an Estonian district administrator and governor-aristocratic marshal in Estonia .

Life

The father of Johann von Brevern, who was called Iwan in Russia, was Peter von Brevern (* 1711 in Lübeck ), Herr auf Maart, Kostifer and Kedder in Estonia, his mother Gertrude was born from Kursell . After graduating from school, he studied in Leipzig and then went on educational trips to Strasbourg , Paris and Italy . In 1771 he took over the office of secretary of the rural orphan court in Estonia. In 1777 he took over the post of secretary in the Estonian knighthood , in 1783 he became secretary of chivalry and harrisoni shear county marshal . 1786–1789 he was governorate aristocratic marshal in the governorate of Estonia . He stood up for the rights of Estonia and was Estonian district administrator from 1796 to 1800. Due to illness, he gave up this office and was a curator on the Board of Trustees of the Knight and Cathedral School in Reval until his death in 1803 .
