Hello AG was a Swiss charter airline based in Basel and based at Basel Mulhouse Freiburg airport . It unexpectedly ceased operations on October 21, 2012 and filed for bankruptcy on November 26, 2012 .

history

Hello was founded in 2004 by Moritz Suter . In that year she started flight operations and has been active in the charter sector ever since. Charter destinations on the Mediterranean and the Red Sea were primarily served . In addition to the regular holiday flights, a McDonnell Douglas MD-90 of the Hello was used several times to repatriate holiday travelers from crisis areas, for example during the government crisis in Thailand in December 2008.

From autumn 2010 to spring 2011, the company's MD-90s were successively replaced by Airbus A320-200s .

Hello has been a partner of the Swiss football club FC Basel since the 2011/2012 season and has also provided one of the Airbus A320-200s with the club's logo.

On October 21, 2012 Hello announced bankruptcy , among other things due to a lack of liquidity, the termination of a contract with TUI Deutschland and the insolvency of two major French customers. The former chief financial officer had provided the management and the board of directors with figures which, after being examined by the new chief financial officer, turned out to be incorrect. The flight operations were stopped immediately, all aircraft were in Switzerland at that time. Hello had received a deferral of bankruptcy until the end of November 2012 on October 22, 2012, so that the board of directors and management would have time to recapitalize the airline, but had to file for bankruptcy on December 26, 2012.

Destinations

Hello served primarily from Zurich and Basel to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean and Egypt , such as Palma , Djerba , Heraklion and Hurghada .
