Henning Larsen Architects
Henning Larsen Architects is an international architecture firm headquartered in Copenhagen . The company was founded in 1959 by the Danish architect Henning Larsen and currently employs around 300 people. In 2011 the company worked on projects in more than 20 countries.
The Henning Larsen Middle East office in Riyadh was founded in 2008. In 2011 further offices were added in Munich and Beirut .
In 2011 the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík was voted one of the ten best concert halls by the English magazine Gramophone . Henning Larsen Architects also designed the Royal Opera in Copenhagen . In Germany, the company is particularly known for the construction of the new Spiegel main building opened in December 2011 in Hamburg's Hafencity .
Henning Larsen Architects are made up of 15 partners in the branches and 4 partners at the Copenhagen headquarters.
history
After Henning Larsen had worked for Arne Jacobsen (1952–1953) and Jørn Utzon (1958), he founded Henning Larsens Tegnestue in 1959 . The architectural office in the tradition of Scandinavian design became one of the largest in Denmark. The first major project outside Scandinavia was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh.

Henning Larsen Architects is organized as a partnership with currently eleven partners (as of July 2015). Henning Larsen Architects is managed by Mette Kynne Frandsen (CEO) and Louis Becker (International Design Director).

According to the company, questions of sustainability are given special consideration in projects . It maintains a department for research and sustainability, which takes part in relevant discussions and a. Tools developed for resource-saving building planning. For example, there was a collaboration with three doctoral students from the Institute of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark .
