Herbert Adler

Herbert Adler (born April 2, 1935 in Bochum ) is a German actor and director .

Life

After graduating from school, Adler attended drama school in his hometown and received his first engagement in Dortmund in 1952. Further engagements took him to Gelsenkirchen , Würzburg , Kiel and the Staatstheater Braunschweig before he was engaged at the Schauspielhaus Bochum from 1964 under the artistic director Hans Schalla . He began working as a director at this theater in 1969.

Herbert Adler has been a freelance actor and director since 1972.

From 1975 to 1977 Adler was artistic director at the Hildesheim City Theater and from 1977 he was a guest director and took on acting roles at several stages in Germany and abroad, such as in Bern , St. Gallen , at the Prague State Opera or at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires .

Herbert Adler has been the leading director at the Richard Wagner Festival in Wels since 2002 .
