Heroes (English for heroes ) is an English-language song by the Swedish singer Måns Zelmerlöw . It is the winning title of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna . It is the sixth victory for Sweden at the ESC . It is also the first single from Zelmerlöw's sixth studio album Perfectly Damaged , which was released on June 5, 2015.
background
The music and the lyrics to the song were written by Anton Malmberg Hård af Segerstad, Joy Deb and Linnea Deb, who were also responsible for the production. The song was first presented during the fourth semifinal on February 28, 2015 of the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 , the Melodifestivalen . Zelmerlöw reached the final with the song and won the preliminary round in the Friends Arena , where he received 288 points. Critics saw in the song, however, a plagiarism of the David Guetta song Lovers on the Sun , which Zelmerlöw denied.
Due to a complaint, the animated stick figures that were used in the official music video and also in the elaborately produced background projection of the stage show were redrawn before the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
In Germany, the title was published on April 3, 2015.
Eurovision Song Contest
With the song Zelmerlöw entered the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden on May 23, 2015. The song received points from all eligible countries and won with a total of 365 points. After Alexander Rybak's contribution from 2009 Fairytale (387 points) and Loreen's contribution from 2012, Euphoria (372 points), this is the third highest score in the old point system.
