A temporary body of water in the Dölauer Heide in the north-west of Halle (Saale) is called Herthateich . The water was created on a lens-like deposit of clays in the soil of the forest area of the Dölauer Heide. The pond is one of the very few natural standing bodies of water in the Halle area. It does not have water all year round.
