Hessian long-distance cycle route R7
The Hessian long-distance cycle route R7 is one of nine long-distance cycle routes in Hessen . It is under the motto From the Lahn to the Werra , but is also known as the cathedral cycle path , as it passes two cathedrals in Limburg and Wetzlar . It has a total length of 215 kilometers and roams through the Lahn valley , the Vogelsberg and the Fulda valley . The bike path is mostly paved.

Intersections with other cycle paths
The Hessian long-distance cycle path R7 is part of the Lahntal cycle path from Limburg to Gießen , which continues the long-distance cycle path on the Lahn via Diez , Nassau and Bad Ems to Lahnstein near Koblenz .
In Limburg an der Lahn and Dietkirchen there is a connection to the Hessian long-distance cycle route R8 , which runs in a north-south direction.
Shortly before Weilburg , the Weiltalweg , which comes from the Großer Feldberg, flows out. This cycle path runs on a flat former railway line to Weilmünster.
In Grünberg, the Hessian long-distance cycle route R6 is cut, which leads from Diemelstadt in the north via Kirchhain , Grünberg and Usingen to Lampertheim in the south.
From Ulrichstein , the R7 runs in an eastward direction parallel to the Hessian long- distance cycle route R4 , which leads in the north in Bad Karlshafen in the Reinhardswald via Alsfeld and the Wetterau to Hirschhorn in the Odenwald . In Lauterbach there are connections to the volcano cycle path and the Hessian long-distance cycle path R2 . In Philippsthal there is also a connection to the Ulstertal cycle path .
