Hirschberg is a district of the Saxon town of Olbernhau in the Erzgebirge district .

Hirschberg is located about 5 kilometers south-east of Olbernhau in the Ore Mountains directly on the German-Czech border, which marks the course of the Schweinitz here . Since 2016 there has been a border crossing for pedestrians and cyclists in Hirschberg. To the east and south-east, the Hirschberg Forest borders the corridor, while the Flöha forms the natural border in the north .

The state road 214 Olbernhau– Deutscheinsiedel leads through the locality , north of the locality the S 211 branches off to Bienenmühle.

The first written mention of the place dates from 1647 as Hirschbergk .
The deceased could be buried in the Brandau cemetery until 1648, after which they had to be brought to the Olbernhau cemetery to have their own.

August Schumann describes in 1817 in the State Lexicon of Saxony Hirschberg concerning a. a .:

“It has 9 houses and a farm with 64 inhabitants. The inhabitants own little trees and do some services on the royal. Vorwerke. They are parish in Olbernhau. This village was created after the wood was aborted by charring . The Vorwerk which Caspar VI. v. Schönberg initially set up a hunting lodge in 1619, then Abraham I von Schönberg's widow, Ursula Catharina, born von Starschädel, who had been a widow's residence since 1623, became a royal after 1647. Saxon Kammer-Vorwerk, and, like Rechenberg and Grün-Schönberg, leased, but leased in 1780. The economy consists of agriculture and cattle breeding ...

With the construction of the Flöhatalbahn , the place with the stop "Schweinitztal" received a railway connection on October 1st, 1895. On May 15, 1939 this was given the name "Oberneuschönberg". On June 10, 2001, passenger traffic on the Olbernhau-Grünthal- Neuhausen section was discontinued.

In 1874 Hirschberg was part of Niederseiffenbach. With the dissolution of the community of Niederseiffenbach on April 1, 1939, Hirschberg and Niederlochmühle became part of the community of Oberneuschönberg. In 1950, Hirschberg became part of the latter when Oberneuschönberg was incorporated into Olbernhau.
