Location of Hohenböddenstedt in Saxony-Anhalt

Hohenböddenstedt is a district of the town of Diesdorf in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The round square village of Hohenböddenstedt is located in the northwest of the Altmark four kilometers east of Diesdorf on the Molmker Bach between the Diesdorf districts of Abbendorf and Peckensen .

The landscape protection area Salzwedel-Diesdorf lies to the northwest.

history

Today's Hohenböddenstedt is already mentioned in 1112 as a butenstide in a document about the Diesdorf monastery and the Hamersleben monastery .

In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the place is listed as Wendischen Bodenstede and Vendeschen Bodenstede .

On the field mark of the village, 700 meters south-west of the village, on the Molmker Bach, there is a corridor called “der wüsten Kamp”, only 300 meters from the eastern end of Abbendorf. Wilhelm Zahn suspects a former single farm here.

The ham mill is a listed watermill west of the village. In 1585 it was called Schnick Mulle , in 1721 Schincken-Mühle and 1804 Schinken Mühle. Only in 1957 was it listed as Abbendorf's residence, otherwise it belonged (as it is today) to Hohenbödderstedt. Until shortly after the fall of the Wall , the ham mill was a popular excursion destination.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Hohenböddenstedt was incorporated into the municipality of Abbendorf from the Salzwedel district . With the incorporation of Abbendorf on January 1, 1991 into the community of Diesdorf, the district of Hohenböddenstedt came to Diesdorf.
