history
Reddigau was originally designed as a round square village. The first written mention of the village of Reddigau comes from the year 1226 when villam Ridegowe sold the village to the Diesdorf monastery when Werner von Medingen (Werneruf de Medinge) . The historian Peter P. Rohrlach writes: "The claim that Hermes-Weigelt was first mentioned around 1161 is incorrect."
In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg of 1375 the place is listed as Redigow , which belongs to the Diesdorf monastery.
During the land reform in 1946, 379.2 hectares were expropriated and divided among 59 settlers. In 1948, as a result of the land reform, 43 buyers were mentioned, of which 17 were new settlers. In 1955 the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG “New Life”, was founded in Neuekrug. In 1986 the LPG "New Life" with administration in Neuekrug and an "Offenstall Reddigau" were called.
On October 3, 1961, a family from Reddigau was forcibly resettled to another area in the Magdeburg district . This also happened in many neighboring villages in the former border area.
In 1745, today's village of Neuekrug belonged to Reddigau, the then Neue Krug was a jug with a windmill. In 1833 a farm with a mill is called there, and in 1871 and 1885 a colony of Neuekrug. In 1931 the Neuekrug colony was then a residential area of Höddelsen.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1950, the communities of Reddigau and Höddelsen merged to form a new community of Neuekrug.
Until the end of 2009, the community of Neuekrug with its districts Höddelsen, Neuekrug and Reddigau (with the locations Reddigau-Ort and Reddigau-West) was a member of the Beetzendorf-Diesdorf administrative community . The incorporation of the community of Neuekrug to Diesdorf took place on January 1st, 2010.
So the district of Reddigau came to Diesdorf on January 1, 2010 as a district.
