Hohenossig is a district of the municipality of Krostitz in the Saxon district of North Saxony in Germany .

geography

Hohenossig is located southwest of the main town of Krostitz between the cities of Leipzig and Bad Düben on Bundesstraße 2 . There is also a local connection to Kletzen and on to State Road 4 . In the hallway of the place is the Ortswüstung Hollober .

history

In terms of the type of settlement, Hohhenossig is a lane village . The place belonged to the electoral office of Delitzsch until 1815 . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the place became part of Prussia and was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony in 1816, to which it belonged until 1952. Hohenossig was incorporated into Zschölkau on July 1, 1950 . In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Zschölkau and Hohenossig were assigned to the newly tailored Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 . Hohenossig was part of the municipality of Kletzen- Zschölkau since 1994 and part of the municipality of Krostitz since 1999.

The population of Hohenossig was less than 100 in 1818. By the outbreak of World War II it had more than tripled. In 1939, 321 people lived in Hohenossig. After the end of the war, the population rose again by 50 people.
