Kletzen is a district of the municipality of Krostitz in the Saxon district of North Saxony in Germany .
geography
Kletzen is located southwest of the main town Krostitz in the triangle of the cities of Leipzig , Eilenburg and Delitzsch . There are local connections to Hohenossig , Beuden , Rackwitz and to Bundesstraße 2 . In the hallway of the place are the Ortswüstungen Leina and Zocklitz .
history
Until 1815, Kletzen belonged to the Electoral Saxon office of Delitzsch . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the place became part of Prussia and was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony in 1816, to which it belonged until 1952. On July 1, 1950, the place Beuden was incorporated into Kletzen. In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Kletzen was assigned to the newly tailored Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 . From 1994 to 1998, Kletzen and Zschölkau formed an independent community called Kletzen-Zschölkau. Since January 1, 1999, Kletzen has been part of the municipality of Krostitz.

The population of Kletzen was just over 100 in 1818. Until the outbreak of World War II , the population more than doubled to 268 in 1939. After the end of the war, the population continued to rise. In 1946 there were 466 residents in Kletzen, four years later the number had risen to 700. During the times of the GDR , the number of inhabitants decreased again continuously. In 1990 there were still 346 people living in Kletzen.
Attractions
The village church in Kletzen dates from the 12th century. It is the oldest building in town. The oldest part of the church is the steeple. This is followed by the Romanesque hall in the same width. The choir was changed in the Gothic period, the apse is in Romanesque style. On the north side of the choir is the patron's box , in the south the sacristy . The galleries date from the 17th century, the pulpit , the seating and the organ are from the 19th century. The only bell in the church comes from Leipzig and was cast in 1689.
