Niederossig is a district of the municipality of Krostitz in the Saxon district of North Saxony in Germany .

geography

Niederossig is located north of the main town Krostitz between the cities of Eilenburg and Delitzsch . The place is not on a classified road, but there are local connections to Krensitz , Wölkau and Priester . Bundesstrasse 2 runs west of Niederossig . The place is on a tributary of the line . In the corridor of Niederossig is the deserted area of Taupadel .

history

Niederossig is a round hamlet in terms of the type of settlement . The place belonged to the electoral office of Delitzsch until 1815 . He came to Prussia through the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna and in 1816 was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony , to which he belonged until 1952. On July 1, 1950 the place (at that time still with the spelling Nieder Ossig ) was incorporated into Krensitz. In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Krensitz and Niederossig were assigned to the newly tailored Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 .

On March 1, 1994, the rural community of Krensitz was incorporated into Krostitz and Niederossig has also been part of the community of Krostitz since then.

The population of the small town Niederossig was just 44 in 1818. By the outbreak of the Second World War , the population rose to 86. After the end of the war, the population rose sharply. In 1946 almost 160 people lived in Niederossig. In 2010 there were around 120 inhabitants in the Niederossig district.
