Kupsal is a district of the municipality of Krostitz in the Saxon district of Northern Saxony in Germany .

geography

Kupsal is located east of the main town Krostitz between the towns of Eilenburg and Delitzsch . There are local connections to Behlitz (city of Eilenburg), Priester , Wölkau (community  Schönwölkau ) and to State Road 4 and on to Mutschlena . In the hallway of the Kupsal is Ortswüstung Kunitz .

history

In terms of the type of settlement, Kupsal is a circular village . Until 1815 it belonged to the Electoral Office of Eilenburg . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the place became part of Prussia and was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony in 1816, to which it belonged until 1952. In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Priest with Kupsal was assigned to the newly tailored Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was dissolved in the Delitzsch district in 1994 .

On July 1, 1950, Kupsal was incorporated by priest. With the incorporation of Priester to Krostitz on January 1, 1997, Kupsal is also part of the municipality of Krostitz.

The population of Kupsal was exactly 100 in 1818. In 1895 there was a small increase with 152. By the outbreak of the Second World War , the population rose to almost 130. After the end of the war, the population continued to rise. In 1946 almost 200 people lived in Kupsal.
