Pröttitz is a district of the municipality of Krostitz in the Saxon district of Northern Saxony in Germany .

geography

Pröttitz is located southwest of the main town of Krostitz between the cities of Leipzig and Bad Düben on Bundesstraße 2 . There is also a local connection to Krostitz . In the corridor of Pröttitz lies the local desert of Osterhain .

history

In terms of the type of settlement, Pröttitz is a round hamlet . The place belonged until 1815 as an exclave in the Delitzsch office to the district office of Leipzig . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the place, in contrast to the rest of the Leipzig district office, became part of Prussia and in 1816 was allocated to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony , to which it belonged until 1952. On July 1, 1950, the rural community of Pröttitz was incorporated into Krostitz and has been part of the community ever since. In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Pröttitz was assigned to the newly tailored Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 .

The population of the small town of Pröttitz was just 74 in 1818. Until the outbreak of the Second World War , the population remained at around this level, apart from minimal fluctuations. After the end of the war, the population rose sharply. In 1946 there were 140 inhabitants in Pröttitz.
