Hold You Down is a song by the American singer Jennifer Lopez . The song appeared on their fourth music album Rebirth in 2005 and was released on February 15, 2005 as the album's second and final single. The song is a duet with the American rapper and Lopez colleague Fat Joe . The song reached number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 6 in the UK . Lopez worked with Don Omar on the Eliel remix of the song . This remix version was played by many American hip hop stations. The song also appeared on Fat Joe's sixth music album, All or Nothing . The song samplet Shirley Murdock's hit As We Lay from 1986.

The song was mainly produced by Cory Rooney, who worked with Lopez in the past. However, Hold You Down was not as successful as its predecessor Get Right . Hold You Down was only a moderate success for Lopez worldwide. Many fans criticized Lopez for having released Hold You Down as the second single.

Music video

The music video for Hold You Down was directed by Diane Martel with Paul Martínez. It was filmed in the Bronx , New York City in March 2005 . Lopez sings on the top of a building and in a great hall while Fat Joe raps in the streets.
