Baby I Love U! (also written as Baby I ♥ U! ) is a song by the American singer Jennifer Lopez . The song was written by her, Cory Rooney, Dan Shea and John Barry and produced by Cory Rooney and Dan Shea. The song appeared on Lopez's third music album This Is Me ... Then (2002) where the song was released in spring 2004 as the fourth and final single. In the United States, the song was one of the erfolglosesten in Lopez's career, reaching only number 72 in the Billboard Hot 100 , but the song debuted in the UK at # 3 on the British charts (behind DJ Casper Cha Cha Slide and Britney Spears Toxic ). The song later reached number 56 in the UK's "best-selling singles of 2004" with around 80,000 copies sold. The song contains an interpolation of John Barry's song Midnight Cowboy from 1969, the theme song for the film of the same name .

There was also a remix version of the song with the American R&B singer R. Kelly , which triggered a small hit in the American urban charts, but was ultimately not officially released. The remix version was released in 2003 on the bonus CD for the DVD The Reel Me .

Music video

Meiert Avis directed the music video . The music video contains excerpts from Lopez's 2003 film Love with Risk - Gigli . The music video was shown many times on MTV and VH1 until the cinema title became a big seller. The music video was then replaced with another music video that was also shot for the song and has nothing to do with the movie.

The music video shows Lopez in airy jogging clothes, she flirts with the camera and, towards the end, sings on a bed in which she is gently cuddling. According to Lopez on The Reel Me , the music video should broadcast "Light, Joy and Sunshine".
