geography

location

The Homert is located in the eastern part of the Oberbergisches Kreis in the Bergisches Land Nature Park , with the Märkische Kreis and the Ebbegebirge Nature Park joining 450 m east-northeast of its summit . It rises not far from the Gummersbach districts of Oberrengse , which is about 1 km south-southwest of the summit, and Piene , which is about 900 m southeast of it.

The Agger tributary Rengse , which flows into the eastern arm of the Aggertalsperre , rises on the southern slope of the Homert , north of the small Brachtsiepen, which flows into the Agger tributary Hostbach , and north-northeast (beyond the federal highway 45 ; see below) the Hesbecke as the left source brook of the Krummenau which flows northeast of the Lister . Parts of the Marienheide-Lieberhausen landscape protection area are located on the mountain ( CDDA no. 555555261; designated 1982; 55.3297  km² in size).

About 200 m east of the Homert summit runs in its section Meinerzhagen - Drolshagen the A 45 ( Sauerland line ), which reaches a height of 487.7 m west of the Gummersbach district of Neuenschmiede between deeply cut slope embankments around the motorway rest area  "Neuenschmiede" .

Natural allocation

The Homert belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Süderbergland (No. 33), in the main unit Südsauerländer Bergland (336 2 ) and in the subunit Mittelbiggebergland (336 2 .4) to the natural area Lister-Bigge-Bergland (336 2 .41). To the west, the landscape in the main unit Oberagger- and Wiehlbergland (339) and in the sub-unit Oberaggerbergland (339.0) merges into the natural area Bergneustädter Bergland (339.01).

Mountain height

According to the German basic map (DGK5), Homert is 518.2  m high. Many maps incorrectly state their height as 526  m ; 519  m is mentioned on the renewed summit cross of the mountain and in the map services of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) . There is a trigonometric point ( 511.4  m ) around 350 m west of the summit .
