The Honda SCV 100 Lead , known internally as the JF11, is a scooter from the Japanese manufacturer Honda . It was manufactured in India and sold in Europe from 2003 to 2007 as the successor to the Honda Bali in the 100 cc class. The list price in Germany was 1640 euros. Outside of Europe it was marketed as the Honda Dio. It was not offered in the USA. The Honda Dio was named "Scooter of the Year" 2003 by the BBC . The successor has been the NHX 110 Lead (JF 19) since 2008 .

description

The Honda Lead is characterized by its simple and robust construction, its low weight and its small dimensions.

A fan-air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine with an uncontrolled catalytic converter and an output of 5.2 kW / 7 hp serves as the drive . The mixture is prepared using a carburetor . The ignition system is designed as a maintenance-free contactless ignition ( CDI ). A continuously variable V-belt automatic transmission , which is integrated in the drive unit swing arm, is used as power transmission .

The front chassis of the scooter is a pushed short swing arm with 80 mm suspension travel, which responds very comfortably to small bumps, as well as 10-inch wheels with 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear.

The Lead is designed as a city scooter with a top speed of 81 km / h. Its average consumption of 3.1 l per 100 km corresponds to that of many 50 cm³ scooters. It is relatively undemanding in terms of maintenance; The only operating fluid besides the gear oil in the final drive is the engine oil that needs to be changed regularly. For maintenance (e.g. adjusting the valve clearance or changing spark plugs), the rear fairing can be tilted into a convenient maintenance position after loosening just five screws.

Furnishing

In addition to the obligatory speedometer and indicator lights for turn signals and high beam, the compact cockpit has a fuel gauge. In addition to the kick starter, an electric starter is also installed as standard. A luggage rack, a bag hook and a small helmet compartment with space for a jet helmet are also included in the equipment. The alternator generates an output of 110 W. The headlight is equipped with a 35/35 watt bilux lamp . Automatic driving lights are installed for the German market, ie the lights cannot be switched off and switch on automatically as soon as the engine is running.

Painting

The scooter is offered in the following colors:

  • Geny Gray (gray)
  • Candy Tahitian Blue (dark blue)
  • Force Silver (silver)
  • Radiant Red (light red)

successor

The Honda NHX 110 Lead (JF 19) produced from 2008 to 2010 is the last model in the Lead series to date. The scooter has an electronic petrol injection system and a regulated catalytic converter. The output of the 108 cm³ single-cylinder four-stroke engine was increased to 6.6 kW / 9.0 PS. The top speed is still 81 km / h. The front suspension was switched to telescopic fork. According to the list, the 2010 model cost 2040 euros.
