Hubert Thome

Hubert Thome (born January 4, 1892 in Rommersheim ; † October 7, 1970 there ) was a German farmer and politician ( center , CDU ).

Life

After attending elementary school, Thome completed practical and theoretical training in agriculture. He then worked as a self-employed farmer in Rommersheim and in 1924 he joined the professional organization of the Trier farmers' association. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in World War I as a soldier and was wounded twice. For his services he was awarded the Iron Cross II. Class and the Wound Badge .

During the Weimar Republic , Thome was a member of the Center Party. In 1922 he became a member of the district assembly of the Prüm district and was a member of the Prussian state assembly from 1932 to 1933 . During the period of National Socialism , he was arrested twice.

After the Second World War , Thome was a member of the presidium of the Rhineland-Nassau farmers' association. After 1945 he joined the CDP , from which the Rhineland-Palatinate state association of the CDU later emerged. From 1945 to 1946 he served as district administrator of the district of Prüm. From 1946 to 1947 he was a member of the Advisory State Assembly of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate . He was then elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, to which he was a member until 1959.
