Otto Carl Hermann August von Dewitz (born October 16, 1850 in Zachow , Regenwalde district , † April 12, 1926 in Berlin ) was a German officer, administrative lawyer, district administrator and member of parliament.

Life

In 1870 he joined the Prussian army , from which he resigned as first lieutenant in 1878 . He studied law at the University of Bonn and entered the Prussian administrative service in 1880, where he first worked for the government in Cologne . In 1881 he was entrusted with the administration of the district office of Saarlouis and in 1882 appointed district administrator for the Prüm district . From 1886 to 1892 he worked as district administrator for the Oldenburg district in Holstein .

He was the owner of the Zankeuz estates in West Prussia , Groß-Ziethen in Brandenburg and Alt-Pleen in Pomerania. In 1892 he resigned from the civil service in order to devote himself to the administration of his estate.

As a member of the Free Conservative Party , he represented the 18th electoral district in Schleswig-Holstein (Oldenburg) in the Prussian House of Representatives from 1903 . He was the managing director of the party in Berlin.
