Hugh Dillon (born May 31, 1963 in Kingston , Ontario) is a Canadian actor , musician and record producer . From 2008 to 2012 he played the role of Ed Lane in the CTV / CBS co-production Flashpoint - Das Spezialkommando .

Life

Musical career

From 1987 to 2003, Dillon was the lead singer of the Canadian hard rock band The Headstones , which became one of the most commercially successful Canadian bands.

After the Headstones split in 2003, Dillon formed the band Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir .

Dillon also worked as a music producer. He produced an album for the Canadian rock band The Rubbers and wrote and produced songs for numerous television productions .

Acting career

His first major role in Bruce McDonald's film drama Dance Me ( Dance Me Outside ) in 1994. Next came the role of Joe Dick, which also by director turned McDonald film Hard Core Logo . This attracted so much attention at Quentin Tarantino and his company Rolling Thunder Pictures that it was ultimately loaned and sold through them. This brought the film international attention.

Dillon had other notable roles thereafter. Among others in 2002 in Lone Hero with Robert Forster and Sean Patrick Flanery and in 2005 with Ethan Hawke in Das Ende . In 2007 he was nominated for a Genie Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film Trailer Park Boys: The Movie . In 2005 he starred alongside Vera Farmiga in the independent film Down to the Bone, which received a Sundance Film Festival award, and was highly praised by critics for it. Dillon has also made guest appearances on numerous television productions, including The Eleventh Hour , ReGenesis and Degrassi: The Next Generation . Dillon also worked as a voiceover for Chevrolet 's Canadian TV and radio spots .

In 2007 he played Mike Sweeney in the critically acclaimed drama series Durham County - The Intoxication of Violence , which plays around a police officer who moves with his wife and daughter to what appears to be an idyllic suburb. His wife, Audrey, is played by Hélène Joy , who starred alongside Dillon in ReGenesis .

From 2008 to 2012, Hugh Dillon was Ed Lane, along with Veronica Mars star Enrico Colantoni and the one from Aliens vs. Predator 2 known David Paetkau , can be seen in the CTV / CBS series Flashpoint - Das Spezialkommando .

In 2017 he took on the role of Lieutenant Sutton, an officer in the Martian military, in the second season of the series "The Expanse".

He spoke to Nick in the Left 4 Dead 2 game .
