Hugo is a city (with the status " City ") in Washington County in the southwestern center of the US -amerikanischen state of Minnesota . In 2010 Hugo had 13,332 inhabitants.

Hugo is located in the northeast suburbs of Minneapolis and Saint Paul at 45 ° 09'08 "north latitude and 92 ° 57'48" west longitude. The city extends over 93.29 km², which is spread over 86.64 km² of land and 6.65 km² of water.

Neighboring places to Hugo are Lino Lakes (on the western city limits), Columbus (on the northwestern city limits), Forest Lake (on the northern city limits), Scandia (on the northeastern city limits), Marine on St. Croix (14 miles east ), Stillwater (15 miles southeast), Grant (14 miles southeast), Dellwood (6 miles south), and White Bear Lake (8.7 miles southwest).

Downtown Minneapolis is 24 miles to the southwest; the center of Saint Paul, the capital of Minnesota, is 20 miles south-southwest.

A few kilometers west of the city is Interstate 35 , which is the fastest connection from Saint Paul to Duluth near the border with Canada . The US Highway 61 leads as the main road through the city center. All other roads within Forest Lake are minor driveways or inner-city connecting roads.

The Forest Lake Airport is 11.9 km north of Hugo, a small airfield. The nearest major airport is Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (43.4 km southwest).
