Hyacinth Church (Gliwice)
The Hyacinth Church is a modern church in the Sośnica (Sossnitza) district in Gliwice (Gleiwitz). The church, named after the holy Hyacinth of Poland , is a brick building, adjoining the rectory and a concert shell . The parish has around 10,000 members.
The first efforts to build a new church were made in the 1960s. However, the leadership at the time made implementation difficult. Construction of the church began in October 1998, and the site was consecrated in December of that year. In 2002 the foundation stone was embedded in the church wall. The church building was completed in 2003.
