IC 2142 is a spiral dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Sc in the constellation Table Mountain in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 70 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 15,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on December 18, 1900 by the American astronomer DeLisle Stewart .
