IC 2598 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Leo Minor at the northern sky . It is an estimated 259 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light-years across.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 2590 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 28, 1903 .
