IC 2594 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Hydra south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 150 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter. She is considered a member of the seven galaxies counting NGC 3313 group ( LGG 209 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3335 and IC 2589 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on February 15, 1898 .
