IC 2591 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc with extensive star formation areas in the constellation Little Lion in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 303 million light years from the Milky Way and about 105,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 14, 1903 .
